A little about me...

I am a psychiatrist and psychotherapist with a private practice established in 2002. My work is grounded in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, a form of treatment that helps people gain deeper self-understanding by exploring the unconscious patterns that shape relationships and behavior.

I work with adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, anger, parenting struggles, and recurring self-defeating behaviors. My goal is to help people not only find relief from symptoms but also move toward more fulfilling and authentic lives.

I earned my medical degree at Vanderbilt University and completed my psychiatry residency and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco. After residency, I pursued advanced training in adult psychotherapy and psychoanalysis at the Oregon Psychoanalytic Center, where I now serve on the faculty, teaching in both the psychotherapy and psychoanalysis training programs.

In recent years, I have expanded my expertise through training in Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) for borderline and narcissistic personality disorders at Columbia University’s Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. To deepen this work, I continue to receive ongoing consultation from national leaders in the treatment of borderline and narcissistic personality disorders, ensuring that my practice remains closely informed by the latest clinical developments and research in this area.
